Branding Photo Session- The Idea Project

Imagine if you had a child that was picked on at school because they were different. Unfortunately, this happens more often than it should. As parents, we want the world for our children, so when we see them hurt or not fitting in, we try to take action to help them. This is exactly what inspired Allison to create The IDEA Project. The IDEA Project is a non-profit organization that provides interactive disability education awareness in schools. Allison custom tailors each program to create understanding by educating students about different abilities. She was inspired by her son Wyatt who has special needs. When Wyatt, started elementary school, he used a tablet computer to help him communicate. The other students were confused and not sure how to include Wyatt, so Allison spoke to the students about different abilities. She showed a video of Wyatt doing things the other students might not think he could do and led an activity that simulated what it is like to have speech difficulties. After observing the students’ understanding of Wyatt and his difficulties with speech, she created The IDEA Project.

I caught up with Allison and her two children for her Branding Photo Session. They are her inspiration, every day, to make this world a better place. She is a true inspiration to her family and the community.
